This year’s Sweeny lecture will be on Friday the 4th of May. We are extremely excited to have this year's speaker, Sir. Harold Kroto, a Nobel Prize Laureate in Chemistry 1996.

His exemplary biography is available on the Nobel Prize's site. In 1996 he won the Nobel Prize along with Robert F. Curl Jr. and Richard E. Smalley for the discovery of fullerenes. He is currently the Francis Eppes Professor of Chemistry at the Florida State University. His career has been devoted to investigating interesting carbon structures and the carbon structures of intersellar medium.
