Peter has practiced law and tax accounting for over 30 years. His first professional association was with Ernst and Whinney, now Ernst and Young, where he worked as a tax accountant in the NYC, then later the Stamford, CT offices. He has significant experience in residential and commercial real estate. He is a member of the NYS Bar Association. Previously, Peter was a professor at Western Connecticut State University where he taught accounting and business law. Currently, Peter serves on the Board of the Putnam/Dutchess United Cerebral Palsy Association and has been a board member for over ten years. Peter resides with his wife, Robin, in Brewster, NY and in his spare time he likes to boat on the Hudson River, play tennis in the summer, and snow board in the winter.

Professor Bishop teaches courses in HR Management, International HRM, Training and Development, Union-Employer Relations, Organizational Behavior, Managing Group and Interpersonal Dynamics, International Business Management and Business Ethics. Before teaching at Lehman, she taught similar courses at Baruch College that also included courses in the Fundamentals of Business Management and she guest lectured on Diversity Management and other topics.

Prior to teaching, Professor Bishop was a Senior Director of HR for two nonprofits. She also worked in the capacity of Labor Designee, Chief Privacy Officer and Director of Office Services for community-based organizations. Professor Bishop served as a Governing Board Member and Business Advisor for a start-up healthcare agency, was a Business Consultant for a start-up domestic violence care agency and was instrumental in the establishment of a carpet installation business. She was the Editor-in-Chief and published in four editions of The MSILR Link Alumni/Student Newsletter. Professor Bishop was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa, Beta Gamma Sigma and Sigma Iota Epsilon honor societies. She is a longstanding member of SHRM, the Society for Human Resource Management and serves as the Faculty Advisor for the Student Chapter of SHRM at Lehman College.

Dr. Chatha is an Assistant Professor of Economics and teaches Macroeconomics and International Economics. Prior to Lehman College he taught at Brooklyn College and Ripon College in Wisconsin. Dr Chatha also held a post doctoral fellowship under Professor R. Heilbroner which was funded by Sloan Foundation. At Lehman he teaches macroeconomics and international economics. Professor Choudhary has taught Introduction to Management, Strategic Management, Seminar in Strategic Management, Introduction to Microeconomics, and Principles of Finance courses at Lehman College.

Prior to being an educator he was an engineer and lawyer. Professor Choudhary's research interests are strategic management, leadership, innovation and finance. His guiding philosophy in terms of teaching is to ensure that students are engaged and master the concepts taught in his courses. He engages students by discussing current events as they relate to the course topics and brings out students' viewpoints during class lectures. He also advises student clubs and participates in various Lehman College committees.

Finally, few years ago he started a bi-annual program to visit the New York Stock Exchange for students taking courses in the department.

Professor Cirace is currently teaching Business Law I, Business Law II, and Commercial Transactions. He has also taught Introduction to Macroeconomics, Introduction to Microeconomics, Economic Statistics, and Industrial Organization. Professor Cirace has published 18 articles, the most recent of which is, When are Law and Economics Isomoporhic (2009), 39 Golden Gate University Law Review, 183-220. Dr. DelaCruz is an Associate Professor of Economics and Business at Lehman College. Prof. Fields's research interests and publications have dealt with government programs and poverty, the differences in pay between male and female workers, explaining the supply of labor by female workers in the US, and how much of the pay gap between women workers is the result of the fact that female workers tend to be clustered into a small number of predominantly female, low paid occupations. Though she actually started out in the theatre (she was acting in an off-Broadway show while she was an undergraduate at NYU), she went on to earn graduate degrees in Urban Planning and Economics. She also loves swimming in Lehman's Apex pool. Publications

Dr. Mine Aysen Doyran is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and Business at Lehman College, City University of New York (CUNY), in Bronx, New York, since Fall 2011. Dr. Doyran teaches primarily business and management classes. Her research focus has been in the areas of political economy, international business and management. More specifically, her research has examined financial crises and their impact. Dr. Doyran is currently exploring the changing role of the state in economic and development policy in the aftermath of financial crisis in Latin America and the Eurozone. In the past year, her research interest has broadened to include topics relating to the business and economics of garment industry. This serves as a platform for further research, namely how particular industries (or sectors) contribute to, or detract from, industrial transformation in developing countries. Prior to joining Lehman, Dr. Doyran worked with the New York State’s DCJS, Bureau of Program and Policy Analysis as a research assisstant. She is currently a member of Latin American Studies Association (LASA), American Society of Hispanic Economists (ASHE), and Eastern Economic Association (EEA). Publications

Dr. Vassilios N. Gargalas is currently Associate Professor of Finance at Herbert H. Lehman College in New York. He has previously served on the faculties of New York University, Fordham University, University of Bridgeport, Western Connecticut State University, Touro College, as well as other institutions in the United Stated and Europe. Dr. Gargalas teaches courses in corporate finance, investments, international finance, and financial institutions. His primary areas of research and publication have been related to corporate finance and financial institutions. Dr. González–Corzo's research interest and specialization covers various aspects of the Cuban economy, specifically on Cuba’s post-Soviet economic transformations, the role of remittances, Cuba’s banking and monetary reforms, and more recent economic development issues in Cuba. Prior to joining Lehman, Dr. Corzo provided consulting, strategic, and investment advice to global banks and financial institutions in the United States, Europe, and Latin America. His career in the financial services industry included senior positions at Price Waterhouse Coopers, L.L.P., JP Morgan Chase, and MetLife, In.

Dr. Dene Hurley earned a Ph.D. in Economics from Northeastern University. She also holds a Master's Degree in Development Studies from University Of Bath, U.K. and received her B.Sc. in Economics (with honors) from The City University in London. Dr. Hurley is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics and Business at Lehman College-CUNY where she teaches mainly statistics and economic courses. Dr. Dene Hurley’s research interest covers applied statistical and econometric work in international finance and trade, focusing primarily on Asia, as well as in urban and regional issues concerning Hispanics and other minorities. Her current research projects include analyzing Asian purchases of U.S. securities and the impact on the bilateral exchange rates as well as a comparative analysis of nonfatal occupational injuries and illnesses among U.S. Hispanics and non-Hispanics workers. She has published in several peer-reviewed journals including Applied Economics and Global Economic Review. Professor Hurley has also been a co-facilitator of the annual Quantitative Reasoning Faculty Development workshop at Lehman since 2010. Prior to joining Lehman College, Dr. Hurley was the Director of Maritime Research at the New York-based Port Import/Export Reporting Service (PIERS), a division of the Journal of Commerce which was then a unit of The Economist Group of London. Hurley’s previous work experience includes roles as an economist with The Cadmus Group, Inc., a consulting firm in Waltham, Massachusetts, and for the Ministry of Finance in the Seychelles. Professor Kamen is an Assistant Professor of accounting and currently teaches introductory accounting for both business and non-business majors, auditing and corporate and partnership taxation. Prior to teaching, Professor Kamen worked in both public and private accounting and developed a strong interest in auditing and taxation. She was published in various journals of taxation on topics including individual, corporation and partnership aspects of tax law and compliance. Professor Kamen is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and has been the On-Campus-Champion for the Institute here at Lehman College for the past 15 years. When not working with Lehman students, Professor Kamen enjoys travel and leisure activities with her husband and teenage son.

Dr. Angela Lebbon specializes in performance management techniques used to improve employee motivation, productivity, and safety behavior. She additionally provides services for analyzing and changing work processes in order to eliminate unnecessary work, which yields greater efficiency and financial savings for organizations. Dr. Lebbon has corporate experience from a Fortune 500 Global Organization Effectiveness department and has consulting experience in various industries including manufacturing, energy and utilities, food services, and healthcare. Dr. Lebbon is an active member of the Organizational Behavior Management Network, Society for Human Resource Management, Association for Behavior Analysis International, and a founding member of the Urban Studies Group. Professor Murrell’s professional experience includes working as a Senior Auditor for Deloitte LLP, an international accounting and consulting firm. After leaving Deloitte, he worked for many Fortune 100 companies as well as small to medium sized firms. He has been teaching accounting and other courses at Lehman since 1985. Dr. Papanikolaou received his Ph.D. in economics from the New School for Social Research in NYC. His area of concentration is in econometrics, macro-econometrics, statistics, interdisciplinary field of econophysics (non-parametric and stochastic approaches to the statistical size distributions of income) and business cycles. Dr. Papanikolaou has taught courses in econometrics, statistics, bio-statistics, macroeconomics, microeconomics, international trade and finance and the history of economic thought.

Before joining the Department of Economics and Business at Lehman College, Dr. Papanikolaou was a research assistant at the Schwartz Center for Economic Policy Analysis at The New School where he worked on the Standard of Living Project, analyzing trends in income (personal, household and family) over time within the context of economic growth, employment, and income inequality over the past five decades in the United States. Prior to that, he was a research assistant at The Research Foundation of the City University of New York, analyzing macroeconomic data, including income distribution and inequality, unemployment, savings, investment, national debt, monetary, fiscal and tax policy initiatives. Prior to joining the Lehman faculty, Dr. Petkov worked as an auditor at KPMG for almost five years. He has been involved in quarter, year-end audits, and SOX engagements for major U.S. and foreign, public and private companies. His main areas of expertise are in oil and gas, service and manufacturing and retail. Dr. Petkov's research interests are in accounting and valuation for internally generated intangible assets, specifically intellectual capital. He is licensed as a CPA in New York State and also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Publications

Professor Sanders’s professional interests include business management, marketing research, consumer behavior and economics. Before coming to Lehman College, Deborah served as Executive Director of The Harlem Venture Group (HVG), a not-for-profit organization that she co-founded in 1996. HVG provided training and micro-financing services for hundreds of aspiring entrepreneurs and received several community service awards for its dedication to economic development in low-income communities. Prior to HVG, Deborah held several positions at the Du Pont Company over a period of 12 years. Starting out in engineering at a nuclear energy facility and moving into other areas of the company including medical products, she developed a variety of interests. She is active in her community, has served on many not-for-profit boards and currently serves on the board of The Columbia Business School Alumni Club of New York where she works on several committees. Her hobbies include boating and exercising. She lives with her family in Harlem.

Before embarking on a career in accounting, Prof. Tauber attended graduate school at Manhattan School of Music. She worked as a professional free-lance flutist and flute teacher in the NY Metropolitan area, before becoming a member of the Shreveport Symphony. Prof. Tauber continued her education at LSU in accounting. She has worked in public accounting, at Superior Oil (Mobil Oil), and Tenneco (in internal auditing). While working in Houston, Prof. Tauber became a CPA in Texas. Prof. Tauber has been teaching in CUNY since 1982. Prof. Tauber is the Director of the M.S. programs in Business and Accounting at Lehman.
