Welcome
Let me introduce myself. My name is Dyan Atkins and I am a Senior Academic Advisor here at Lehman College. I have been assigned as the General Education Advisor for Health Science Majors working through the Office of Undergraduate Advisement in Shuster Hall.
If your major is housed in the Health Promotion and Nutrition Sciences Department (i.e., Dietetics, Foods, and Nutrition; Health Education and Promotion), Exercise Sciences and Recreation Department (i.e., Recreation Education and Therapeutic Recreation but not Exercise Science), or Health Equity, Administration, and Technology Department (Health Services Administration), you will continue to work with your faculty advisors as we support you in your pursuit of your educational goals. The faculty advisors and I will work on establishing a clear line of communication to ensure that you meet your major and general education requirements and reach 120-credit minimum required for a Bachelor of Science degree.
Students who are pursuing minors (Dietetics, Foods, and Nutrition, Disability Studies, Health Education and Promotion, Health Services Administration, Public Health, Recreation Education, Therapeutic Recreation, Youth Services) in the above departments also will work with both myself and faculty advisors.

Planning for degree completion is vital to ensure that you graduate in a timely fashion. As such, you should meet with me at least once during the semester before your anticipated completion date so that we can verify that you will meet all of the requirements for your degree.
