From the Chair, Professor Robert Schneider
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Lehman offers undergraduate majors in mathematics, computer science, and computer information systems, and (in collaboration with the Art Department) computer graphics and imaging. The Department also offers minors in mathematics, computer science, computer applications, and computer graphics and imaging. The graduate degree programs offered by the Department are as follows: Master of Arts in Mathematics, Master of Science in Computer Science, and Master of Arts for Secondary School Teachers of Mathematics. The Department also offers courses in the Program in Mathematics Education for Intermediate School Teachers. Advisers are available to help students select the program most appropriate for them.
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science also has its own modern microcomputer laboratories and research rooms.
All members of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science faculty are distinguished mathematicians and/or computer scientists. Small classes encourage an informal, individualized approach to teaching.
