Faculty Dr. Matthew O'Dowd
Dr. Matthew O'Dowd is a researcher in extragalactic astrophysics. He uses both telescope observations and theoretical models to help understand some of the most distant and energetic phenomena in the universe. His special interests include black holes, quasars, gravitational lensing, and multi-wavelength observations of galaxies. Prof. O'Dowd received his Ph.D. from the University of Melbourne, and before joining Lehman worked at NASA's Space Telescope Science Institute, with the Gemini Observatory, and most recently at Columbia University.
