In its new ad campaign "Look Who's Teaching and Learning at CUNY," The City University of New York celebrates some of its most well-respected and nationally recognized faculty. Lehman's Distinguished Professors Billy Collins (English) and John Corigliano (Music) have previously been featured, and now another Lehman faculty member—Professor Eleanore Wurtzel (Biological Sciences)—has joined this selective list.
The ads began running Nov. 5 in The New York Times educational supplement Education Life and will soon appear on buses and subways.
In The Times, Professor Wurtzel is featured with doctoral student Ratnaker Vallabhaneni, who came from India to study in her lab at Lehman. Together they research different corn varieties in an effort to raise Vitamin A production. Professor Wurtzel teaches molecular biology and is chair of the CUNY Plant Sciences Ph.D. program.
