50+ Fitness Fair Offers Creative Ways to Stay in Shape
Spring is a wonderful time to focus on fitness. The 50+ Fitness Fair on Friday, April 24, will provide information on numerous ways to get in shape, for little or no money. Representatives will be on hand at the nearby Bronx Library Center from 3-8 p.m. to offer information on biking, hiking, cycling, gardening, and numerous other fitness programs. No registration is required for this free event.
Authors Christopher and Catherine Brooks will discuss their book 60 Hikes Within 60 Miles: New York City. Sponsored by the New York Public Library, the fair will provide participants with fitness literature, including a free NYC bicycling map; present slides of the scenic enclaves of the Bronx, Westchester, and other locales; and offer Wii bowling, an indoor workout available at no cost in the library. Organizations participating in the fair include Bike New York, Outdoors Club, Inc., Urban Park Rangers, Wave Hill, and the Wheelchair Sports Federation.
The Bronx Library Center is located at 310 East Kingsbridge Road in the Bronx. For more information on the 50+ Fitness Fair or for directions, please call 718-579-4244.
