Macbeth this Saturday 'Sold-Out'
The Metropolitan Opera's Live in High Definition free broadcast of Shakespeare's Macbeth on Saturday, January 12, at 1:30 p.m. in the Lehman College Studio Theatre has been "sold out." Reservations for future free broadcasts can be made by calling the Lehman Stages Box Office at 718-960-8025.
Other performances in this series include Puccini's Manon Lescaut on February 16, at 1 p.m. in the Lovinger Theatre; Britten's Peter Grimes on March 15, at 1:30 p.m. in the Studio Theatre; Puccini's La Bohème on April 5, at 1:30 p.m. in the Lovinger Theatre; and Donizetti's La Fille du Regiment on April 26, at 1:30 p.m. in the Lovinger Theatre.
The series is hosted by the Celia Cruz Bronx High School of Music and is part of the Metropolitan Opera's efforts to increase music and art education in schools, and to make opera accessible to communities throughout the country.
Founded in 2003 as part of the Bronx New Century High School Initiative/New Visions for Public Schools, the Celia Cruz Bronx High School of Music combines a rigorous academic program with high-quality music instruction, which the students receive with assistance from the Lehman College Music Department.
