    The Lehman College English as a Second Language Institute provides English as a Second Language classes to students whose native language is not English. Classes are taught at all levels from beginning to advanced and cover listening, speaking, reading and writing. All classes are conducted in English. A certificate is awarded upon successful completion of each course. Students must take a placement test for appropriate class placement. The test includes: listening, reading as well as comprehension.

    Summer 2009 Placement Test Schedule:

    • Saturday, September 12, 11:30 a.m.
    • Tuesday, September 15, 5:30 p.m.
    • Tuesday, September, 29, 5:30 p.m.
    • Thursday, October 8, 5:00 p.m.
    • Saturday, October 10, 11:30 a.m.

    The test is given at Lehman College. After test results have been reviewed, students will be assigned to a class. For a test appointment, additional test dates, and information, call (718) 960-8924.

    Our program meets the requirements for international students with F-1 visas. Summer students with F-1 visas must report to the program coordinator by June 23rd.
