HOW TO GET TO LAKE FOREST COLLEGE
Driving directions to the college
Driving directions from O'Hare and Midway airports

Briefly, your choices are O'Hare airport and Midway airport.
Midway is closer to Chicago's downtown. From Midway you can take the El(evated) train to the commuter train, i.e. the Metra line, at Ogilvie Station, out of which runs Union Pacific/North: Chicago to Kenosha. (Note: Union Pacific does not run out of Union station.) Lake Forest is about 19 stops or an hour out of Chicago by train. (map of the train system.) This is a good option for those who want to travel less expensively and/or want to avoid traffic jams (flying into Midway is usually slightly less expensive than O'Hare, and the train ticket to LF is about $5.00.) The train depot in LF will let you off on the corner of Western and Deerpath: LFC (and the welcome desk at Glen Rowan) is about a 10 minute walk, down Deerpath (see map). Cabs are available, and we hope to shuttle people as well.

O'Hare is closer to Lake Forest--about 40 minutes south. Reasonably priced limo services abound here, ferrying people by advance arrangement from O'Hare (or Midway) for about $45. per person, including tips, tolls, etc. This is slightly more than the cost of a cab to Lake Forest. For example, American Taxi (1-800-244-1177) charges a flat rate of $31.00 from O'Hare to Lake Forest, plus tolls, plus $2.00 extra for each adult passenger after the first. Public transportation from O'Hare is available, but will add 40-60 minutes to the travel time.
