Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky , 1840-1893

Russia's best known composer of symphonies, operas, ballets, instrumental and chamber music and songs. Among his most popular concert and theatrical music are "Swan Lake," "Sleeping Beauty," "The Nutcracker," the 1812 Overture and his Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Symphonies.

Sergei Rachmaninoff, 1873-1940

Composer and conductor who created in a wide variety of musical genres and become known as one of the greatest composers of the twentieth century.

Dmitri Shostakovich, 1906-1975

Soviet Russian composer, one of the most celebrated composers of the twentieth century. His works include symphonies and concerti, music for chamber ensembles - string quartets, a piano quintet, string octets, and piano trios - sonatas and preludes for piano, two operas, and film music.
