The School of Education has a new online accessibility website that shares recommendations for meeting ADA compliance standards in online coursework. Leslie Lieman and her technology team offer lessons learned, checklists and resources so online coursework is accessible to all.

Lehman Urban Transformative Education Teacher Opportunity Corps (LUTE-TOC) Program
LUTE-Teacher Opportunity Corps (LUTE-TOC) is currently accepting applications. TOC members learn in a community focused on culturally-responsive pedagogy and career exploration while working in high-needs schools, and receive financial assistance while in the program. LUTE-TOC is directed by Traci Palmieri. Dr. Wesley Pitts, who serves as co-PI, spearheaded the development of evaluation criteria, identified topics for Student Learning Community workshops, and helped to develop dedicated support strategies for TOC participants.

The Department of Music Presents a Recital by The Lehman Chamber Players
The Lehman Chamber Players will kick off their musical season with a performance featuring a variety of late Romantic works including Brahms' dramatic Piano Quartet in C minor, a lively quintet by Telemann, a playful Trio for Oboe, Cello and Piano by Hans Gal; and the intense duo for violin and viola by the Hungarian composer Lazlo Weiner, who perished in the Holocaust.
This event will take place in the Recital Hall, on the third floor of the Music Building, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 7.

DACA Renewal Fund Support
As of June 30, 2016, there were 800,000 beneficiaries of DACA, including many CUNY students, staff, and members of our larger community. Those whose work permits expire between 9/5/17 and 3/5/18 will need to submit applications for renewal no later than October 5, 2017.

If your work will involve human participants, we invite you to learn about federal regulations through the links on our website. Zoltan Boka, the IRB admin, is available to provide IRB training to you and your students. Please note that IRB reviews take place via the IDEATE platform, which you can access with your portal information. Please allow up to two months to complete the IRB process, including revisions. |

CFR Back-to-School Event on Globalization
Please consider attending the 8th Annual Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) Back-to-School Event on Friday, October 13, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- The 2017 Back-to-School Event will focus on globalization, featuring an introduction to CFR’s educational content and a panel discussion with CFR Senior Fellows Edward Alden, Miles Kahler and Shannon K. O’Neil. A networking reception will follow the discussion, providing students with the opportunity to speak with department representatives and hear about CFR career and internship opportunities.
