Finding it difficult to write during the semester? If so join the NCFDD writing movement. Write alongside colleagues in a quiet and comfortable space on Tuesdays. Carve out a weekly block of time for projects that would otherwise have been sidelined by other commitments. Set aside as little as 30 minutes or as long as two hours on Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. or 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the Library Treehouse Conference Room 317.

Sixth Annual Global Citizenship Gala to Benefit Lehman L.I.F.E.
Villa Barone Manor will host our 6th Annual Global Citizenship Celebration. Our Lehman L.I.F.E. volunteers set the tone for an evening of elegance and celebration Thursday, October 24, 2019 6:00pm to 10:00pm. Stop by to have your picture snapped by our very own paparazzi on the red carpet. Place a bid or two at our silent auction. Enjoy food and wine as we get ready to break fundraising records. Our very own Lehman College Jazz Ensemble will have you tapping your feet to the music. While this year is a change of season from our usual spring gala, we promise that it will be just as wonderful a night to remember! Student Opportunities
NYCHCC Scholarship Award
The mission of the NYCHCC is to represent and advocate for Hispanic businesses in New York City. They assist new entrepreneurs, strengthen existing businesses, and assure the growth and success of Hispanic businesses. The NYCHCC is also committed to helping Hispanic students succeed academically and to effectively achieve their professional goals. To this end, the $2,000 NYCHCC Scholarship Award is designed to assist students of Hispanic heritage to obtain a college degree. Scholarships are available on a competitive/need basis.

Qualifications include: United States citizens/residents, Hispanic descent, must live in NYC, undergraduate students attending accredited university, proof of 3.0 GPA or higher, one letter of recommendation from a professor, updated resume, 500-word essay. Essay must include: How the scholarship award would help you excel, your educational, future and career goals, how you plan to play a supportive role in the growth of Hispanic businesses, how you plan to give back to the community.

The deadline to apply is Friday, November 8, 2019. Candidates must apply via their website. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact The New York City Hispanic Chamber of Commerce directly via telephone at 212-348-2339.

Public Service Scholarship
The public sector is the part of the economy that encompasses public services and enterprises. Generally speaking, these services are provided by the government and are publicly funded. Such services include telecommunications, electrical grids, police, military, public education, some aspects of healthcare, and infrastructure such as bridges, roads, water supply, tunnels, sewers, and public transit. These services are usually provided to payers and non-payers alike, and stand to benefit society as a whole, and are typically self-financed or non-profits.

State Records is honored to present this $1000.00 college scholarship for the 2020 school year. The application START DATE is April 15th, 2019 and the END DUE DATE is December 10th, 2019.To enter the contest, interested applicants must fill out the application form to completion.
