CUNY 2x Tech Lehman Awarded $1 Million CUNY 2X Tech Initiative Grant
The CUNY 2X Tech Initiative is Mayor de Blasio's $20 million investment in CUNY to double the number of tech graduates by 2022. Lehman College was named the first of only two CUNY campuses to receive funding, with a $1 million grant over the next 20 months.
Language Lab Creative Corner News from the Language Lab
The Language Lab is using a new language learning platform called SmartClass+, bringing the latest smart classroom technology into language instruction.
Pay and Get Published CUNY Guidelines on Publishing In Predatory Journals
A recent article in The New York Times suggested that faculty across the nation, including CUNY faculty, are increasingly using pay-to-publish "predatory" journals and conferences as outlets for disseminating research findings.

Lehman 2017 Convocation and Inauguration
Changes to the Common Rule--Federal Policy for the Protection of Human Subjects
A change in federal policy for the protection of human subjects will go into effect on January 19, 2018. These changes in federal regulations will result in a number of changes to the CUNY HRPP policies and procedures.
CUNY Academy Opportunities
The CUNY Academy for the Humanities and Sciences was founded in 1981 to foster scholarship and research in CUNY. Affiliated with the University Faculty Senate, the Academy's central concern has been to create a University-wide intellectual community and to encourage and support the scholarship of younger faculty. The Academy is a central feature of the University's intellectual life.
The Office of Sponsored Programs Administration of the Advanced Science Research Center
invites NSF CAREER Award-eligible CUNY Assistant Professors to register for its 2018 NSF CAREER Boot camp program. The series is designed to help faculty develop competitive NSF CAREER proposals. The activities also provide a great opportunity for faculty across CUNY to network.
Zero Textbook Cost Courses
Students at Lehman College and throughout CUNY can now search CUNYfirst for Zero Textbook Cost Courses. The Zero Textbook Cost attribute can be applied to any course without a required textbook (or any book, in print or electronic format). Please direct any questions to Stacy Katz (ex. 7767) .
Tracking Our Impact Across the U.S.: Biology Alumni
The Department of Biological Sciences was established in 1968, the same year as Lehman College. For over 50 years, the department has launched the careers of thousands of alumni. We recently analyzed a set of 1000 biology alumni and found that they are living in 33 states, with the highest concentration in the New York Metro Region.

The Academic Center for Excellence
The Academic Center for Excellence (Old Gym 205) and the Science Learning Center (Gillet 133) offer FREE tutoring services. Hours for both tutoring centers are Mondays through Thursdays, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Online tutoring is also available.

International Research and Education Forum

Sponsored and organized by the Office of Award Pre-Proposal Support (APPS), RFCUNY, this is the first CUNY International Research and Education Forum. The forum brings together CUNY scientists interested in international research and encourages global interdisciplinary collaborations with the potential for impactful scientific advances.

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine is accepting applications for the 2018 Ford Foundation Fellowships Programs for Achieving Excellence in College and University Teaching.
CUNY Policy for Final Grade Submission Deadlines
Beginning fall 2017, City University of New York (CUNY) will implement a university-wide Final Grade Submission Deadline policy.
PSC-CUNY Research Award Programs
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs will be hosting a PSC-CUNY workshop on Wednesday, November 15, from 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. in Carman Hall Multimedia Room B75.
The Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs is the College's chief academic officer and senior member of the Cabinet. The Provost is responsible for all educational programs, as well as for academic issues that relate to the faculty, including appointments, promotions, and evaluations. She also is responsible for preparing accreditation reviews, strategic planning, and the review of division and departmental budgets. Questions?
