The New York Times has called Lehman "the most attractive of the CUNY colleges with some of its finest facilities." The old Tudor-Gothic architecture of the original College buildings provides an environment of considerable architectural interest. Built in the 1930s as part of the federal Works Projects Administration, the grey-stone buildings feature imposing turrets, graceful finials, and other decorative features.
