Lehman Stages Helps Mount
Third Bronx Independent Film Fest
Lehman Stages is working with the Bronx Stage and Film Company to present the Third Annual Bronx Independent Film Festival, scheduled for Friday, July 15, and Saturday, July 16, at 8 p.m. Friday evening is devoted to documentaries, and Saturday to short features. Films have been submitted from around the world and this year's line-up boasts some important world premieres. Call Bronx Stage & Film at 718-907-0079 for information and reservations, or visit www.bronxstage.com.
The panel of judges is comprised of respected industry professionals, including actor Ron Livingston (Office Space, Band of Brothers, Sex and the City); actress Lisa Sheridan (Freaky Links and the upcoming ABC series Invasion); screenwriter Ed Stone (Happy Texas and the upcoming Griffin and Phoenix); and playwright/screenwriter Mark Medoff (Children of a Lesser God). These artists are donating their time to support arts and culture in the Bronx.
Lehman Stages is a professional component of the Division of Arts and Humanities at Lehman. Its mission is two-fold: to manage and develop the performance facilities operating under the auspices of the Division and to create original artistic programming and initiatives that enrich the cultural life of the Bronx community.
The Bronx Stage and Film Company is a professional non-profit arts organization dedicated to the discipline of theater and film. The company serves as an artistic resource for emerging artists, particularly in underserved communities of New York City, and promotes art, particularly from the Bronx and the city's other outer boroughs. The scope of the company's work includes stage productions, readings, workshops, multimedia and film projects and casting services.
