The first rehearsal for the Lehman College Chorus, which meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30 to 5 p.m., will be held on Monday, August 29. The Lehman College Community Chorus, which meets on Tuesday evenings from 7 to 9:30 p.m., will begin rehearsals on Tuesday, August 30. Community members may join either chorus.
On December 11, the choruses will join the Lehman Symphony Orchestra in presenting the annual winter concert at the Lehman Concert Hall. Featuring Mozart's Regina Coeli and Solemn Vespers, the program will also include shorter multicultural compositions by Mendelssohn, Thompson, Castelnuovo-Tedesco and others.
There is no course fee required to participate, unless college credit is desired. Previous choral experience and note-reading ability are recommended. Those interested in obtaining academic credit should consult with a Music Department advisor.
