Art Gallery Wins Award for Architectural Project

Interior view, Bronx Community College/ Hall of Fame for Great Americans
"Bronx Architecture" is funded through a grant from the National Endowment of the Arts, which has designated the site as a "We the People" project. Featuring a survey of architectural styles, highlights of important public buildings, and a look at major practitioners in the field, it serves as an educational resource, providing information on the history of the Bronx and its neighborhoods.
The site includes written entries and photographs of 50 buildings, architectural walking tours and maps, lesson plans, neighborhood histories, a resource section, and a glossary.
The Lehman College Art Gallery was one of the first in the country to exhibit works created with technology and to use the Internet as a tool both for teaching art and for exploring the art of distant cultures.
