CUNY-Wide Contest Offers Prize of Laptop Computer

Light Blub

The City University of New York's project to replace aging computer systems over the next five years is currently called "ERP." The acronym, which is short for Enterprise Resource Planning, does not adequately capture the spirit of this massive transformation project's exciting renovations.

A contest, therefore, is underway to give ERP a new and more suitable name, an acronym that the CUNY community can easily recognize and use. The winning author of ERP's new name will win a grand prize of an Apple or Dell laptop computer.

All new names that are submitted will be narrowed down to the best student-submitted name, the best faculty-submitted name, and the best staff-submitted name. From those three groups, the winning submission will be selected. The grand prize of an Apple or Dell laptop will go to the author of the new name.

Please visit http://brightideas.cuny.edu to submit your suggested name. The deadline for entries is April 15, 2007.
