"Inside Lehman VII," a student-produced video magazine at Lehman College, has won an Award of Distinction in The Videographer Awards' 2007 competition. This is the team's second Videographer award, its second award this year (following a Telly Award last month), and its tenth since the program originated in Fall 2002. Assistant Dean Lynne Van Voorhis, executive producer of the program, is "very proud of our team and honored to have received this latest recognition."

The Videographer Awards is an international awards program directed by communication professionals to honor talented individuals and companies in the video production field. Entrants include video production companies, advertising and public relations firms, corporate communication departments, cable and broadcast television operations, government agencies and schools. The awards are designed to identify communication professionals who are raising the standards of the industry.

"It is very satisfying to see that the hard work of the Inside Lehman team is being recognized in this national television awards competition," says Producer Tom O'Hanlon of Lehman's Department of Journalism, Communication and Theatre.

"Inside Lehman" focuses on events, programs and issues within and around the Lehman community. This particular award-winning segment, the seventh in the series, showcased the role of aesthetics in education, strategies for beating stress, and the work and spirit of the Lehman women's basketball team, among other segments. Students write and produce all of the segments and are featured on-camera.
