Prof. Bullaro a Guest on 'Italian-American Writers'

Grace Bullaro
Professor Grace Bullaro
Professor Grace Bullaro (English) was a recent guest on WPAT's "Italian-American Writers," a cablevision public access television program. She was there to discuss two of her books: Beyond Life is Beautiful, The Cinema of Roberto Benigni and The Cinema of Lina Wertmuller.

In Beyond Life is Beautiful, Professor Bullaro compiled essays focusing on Benigni's foundations as a comedian and on the film itself. Wertmuller, the successful film director who became the first woman to be nominated for an Oscar in 1976, is the focus of her second book.

Born in Salerno, Italy, Professor Bullaro earned her undergraduate degree at City College and graduate and post-graduate degrees from SUNY Stony Brook. Her academic interests include French and Italian literature, cultural movements, existentialist philosophy, Italian cinema, and gender studies.
