Theatre Program Stages Noel Coward's Hands Across the Sea

Hands Across the Sea Poster
A new production of Noel Coward's Hands Across the Sea, featuring songs by this 1930s British composer and playwright, will be presented this week in the Studio Theatre. Produced by the Department of Journalism, Communication, and Theatre, the play is directed by Professor Marilyn Sokol. Performances will be given on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.; Thursday-Saturday at 8 p.m.; and Sunday at 3 p.m.

Set in 1935, Hands Across the Sea shines a light on London's high society. The main characters, Piggie and Peter Gilpin, find themselves receiving tedious and unwanted visitors and are determined not to endure them alone. The cast includes students as well as professional actors.

General admission is $10; $8 for seniors; and free to Lehman students. For tickets, call 718-960-8025.
