'Lightning' Jazz Brass Band Concert Dec. 9

The Lehman "Lightning" Jazz Brass Band will give a free concert December 9, featuring the music of Lester Bowie's Brass Fantasy and the World Saxophone Quartet, as well as a selection of contemporary arrangements for small to mid-sized ensembles. The concert begins at 2 p.m. in the Hearth Room on the third floor of the Lehman College Music Building. All are welcome to attend.

Directing the band is Bob Stewart, a distinguished lecturer of music at Lehman. A professional tuba player for over 35 years, Professor Stewart has performed and recorded with artists like Dizzy Gillespie, Charles Mingus, McCoy Tyner, and Wynton Marsalis. He has also recorded three of his own albums for JMT and Postcard Records
