"Inside Lehman," the College's student-produced video magazine, has won first place in the Alliance for Community Media—Northeast Division (ACM-NE) 2007 Video Festival's School/Education Programming-Professional category. This latest award is the program's third this year. Altogether, it has won a total of 11 awards since 2002, three of them from ACM-NE.

"'Inside Lehman' is a wonderful opportunity for Lehman students to showcase their work in the country's number one media market," said Assistant Dean Lynne Van Voorhis, executive producer of the series. "Students discover their talents while working on the program and use the skills they develop to begin their careers in the highly competitive media profession."

The program's latest edition features seven stories: "Math and Computer Science: Machines that Communicate," "Aesthetic Education," "Health/Beating Stress," "Theatre: A Lesson Before Dying," "Lehman Minute," "Sports: Women's Basketball," and "Three-Dimensional Art." The series is broadcast on CUNY-TV Channel 75 (Time Warner Cable) and BronxNet Cablevision Channel 67.

Each year, the Journalism, Communications, and Theatre (J.C.T.) Department produces two episodes of "Inside Lehman," a reflection of both the program's complexity and its high standards.

"It is really gratifying to see that our audience connects with 'Inside Lehman,' and that the program is being honored with this award," said the program's producer, J.C.T. Professor Tom O'Hanlon. "'Inside Lehman' is the result of the hard work of many people. I am very proud of the intelligence and creativity that they bring to this production."

The production team includes J.C.T. faculty and staff members Yves Dossous, Orlando Lorca, and Philip A. Ruiz.

"Inside Lehman" focuses on events, programs, and issues within and around the Lehman community.
