The organization aims to provide high school and college students with opportunities to explore careers in education and to gain a realistic understanding of the nature of education and the role of the teacher. The FEA offers mentoring and guidance to students who are beginning their college education and have expressed an interest in becoming teachers; helps local high schools establish FEA chapters; and sponsors forms and workshops for future teachers. Lehman's FEA plans to extend its membership to Lehman alumni.
