New Exhibit Explores Sculptural Designs
The installation features the works of fifteen area artists, who rearrange familiar objects like chairs and end tables into unconventional tableaus. Among the issues raised by these hybrid works are functionality, the "found" object, handmade vs. mass-produced, and subversion of intent.
"Informed by Function" is made possible through support from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs and the New York State Council on the Arts.
The Gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday, from10 a.m. - 4 p.m. For more information, call 718-960-8731.
