12th Annual Student/Faculty Read-In Set for Feb. 27

Trapeta B. Mayson
A native of Liberia, Mayson emigrated in 1975 to Philadelphia, where she has been an active member in the city's various artist communities. She is a 2002 Pew Fellow, as well as a 2000 and 2004 Pennsylvania Council on the Arts fellow. Her work has been published in Strong RX Medicine, published by the American Journal of Poetry, and Cave Canem's Black Issues Book Review.
The Read-In is part of Lehman's Black History Month series, and it celebrates the prose, poetry, and song of black women. Students and faculty will have an opportunity to read their works from 10 - 11 a.m. Mayson will give a reading from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m., followed by a question and answer session and book signing. From 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., guests will have a chance to mingle during the "Meet-the-Author" luncheon.
