Dr. Baez to Discuss Her Book 'My Daughter's Eyes'
Winner of the 2007 Marmol Prize, My Daughter's Eyes is a compilation of fourteen short stories about young Dominican women living in the Bronx. The stories span three decades and deal with themes of child abuse, father-daughter betrayal, love, loss, and healing.
Dr. Baez earned master's and doctoral degrees from New York University and has been a clinical social worker for twenty-two years. She is a poet and fiction writer, and her literary work has appeared in Caudal, a Dominican journal; Tertuliando/Hanging Out, a bilingual anthology; and Callaloo. Her research interests include Dominican Americans and mental health issues in the Latino community.
