Over five hundred students and alumni networked with employers at this year's Career Expo, which introduced attendees to the College's new web-based Alumni Mentoring Network. The network debuted last September and connects alumni who are established in their careers with current students and recent graduates in a secure, online environment, where they can discuss career possibilities and receive job coaching in real time.

Alán Fuentes, a career advisor with the College's Career Services Center and coordinator of this year's event, believes that one factor in the large turnout was the Center's efforts to establish relationships with students early in their college careers.

Hundreds of students and alumni turned out for the College's 2nd Annual Career Expo.

"We want to encourage students beginning in the first semester of their freshman year to consider their career plans and learn networking and interviewing skills," he said. "We want freshmen and sophomores, as well as juniors and seniors, to attend the Career Expo."

Recruiters at the Expo, which was held March 5 in the APEX, came from a wide variety of companies, including Frito Lay, Pepsi Cola Bottling of NY, the CUNY Institute for Software Design, Banco Popular, St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu.
