Stage and television actor Joe Danisi will be the next guest on "The Working Professional," a series of discussions with professionals in film, television, and theatre. The interview, conducted by Professor Marilyn Sokol (Journalism, Communication, and Theatre), is open to the community and will take place on Tuesday, March 25, from 3-4:15 p.m. in Room C-14 of Carman Hall.

Trained as an actor in the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute, Danisi studied playwriting at the Ensemble Studio Theater and has written, produced, and directed in both theater and television, including two dozen documentaries that have aired over major networks. His episode of Court TV's "Dominick Dunne's Power, Privilege and Justice: Doctor of Deceit" was awarded a U.S. Congressional Citation and the Pace University Law School Women's Justice Center's Creative Vision Award for exploring the murder of Gail Katz Bierenbaum, a victim of domestic violence. His short film, Some Enchanted Evening, appeared in the 2001 NYC Mix Festival of Film and Video as well as the 2002 Berlin Mix Festival.

Since 2000, Danisi has been the creative director of Tuesdays@9, Naked Angels Theater Company's play and screenplay development series. The series has given birth to such plays as Kenneth Lonergan's You Can Count On Me, Daniel Reitz's Lowlife, and the current production of Allan Knee's The Jazz Age. Danisi's own plays Roamin' Holiday, Home Front, and Alchemy have been produced in New York.

As an actor, Danisi has performed under the direction of such artists as Peter Sellars and David Greenspan. He has been an artist-in-residence at Miami-Dade Community College, conducting play development and cold-reading workshops, and is also a Visiting Professional at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts Undergraduate Dramatic Writing Program.
