Women's Studies Program Celebrates Asian-Pacific Heritage April 9

Chinese Musical Instrument
The Chinese Music Ensemble of New York will visit Lehman on Wednesday, April 9, to perform a special concert in celebration of the heritage of Asian-Pacific Americans. Sponsored by the Women's Studies Program, the free concert will begin at 11 a.m in the Studio Theatre.

Directed by Professor Yu-Chiung Teng, the ensemble is the oldest and largest Chinese orchestra in the United States. Founded in 1961, the ensemble has more than forty-five members who play almost every type of Chinese musical instrument. The Ensemble's main objective is to introduce the music of China to Western audiences.
