Lehman Begins Joint Nursing Program with American University of Antigua

President of American University of Antigua, Neal Simon, Esq. (l.) with Dean Michael Paull sign the articulation agreement between the two colleges.
Lehman College signed an Articulation Agreement with the American University of Antigua College of Medicine on March 25, which will enable nursing students from Antigua to enter Lehman's one-year R.N. to B.S. in Nursing program. This partnership mirrors Lehman's nursing completion alliance with Sungshin Women's University in South Korea, which brings dozens of students to the Lehman campus each year.
The participating students will spend their first two years working toward the Associate's of Science in Nursing degree in Antigua, with the goal of passing the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX), which in turn would grant them entrance into Lehman's B.S. in Nursing program.
International programs such as these are designed to cope with the worldwide shortfall of nurses, allowing prospective nurses the flexibility to front-end their training in their native countries, rather than enduring long waiting lists for such programs in the United States.
"We are excited to begin this new project, after ten years of wrestling with the nursing shortage," said Dr. Michael Paull, Lehman's dean of adult and continuing education, who signed the agreement on behalf of the College.
