Irish Music Concert and Talk with Ivan Goff Oct. 16

All-Ireland champion uilleann piper Ivan Goff will be the next guest at the CUNY Institute for Irish-American Studies' lunch-time series. The concert and talk will be held on Thursday, October 16, from 12-1 p.m. in Room 263 of Carman Hall.

Born in Dublin, Goff is based in New York City and has performed in the show Riverdance, both on Broadway and on its U.S. tours, and in Michael Flatley's production of Lord of the Dance. A former member of Eileen Ivers and Immigrant Soul, Goff also has performed with bands and artists, including the world-renowned Paul Winter and the internationally acclaimed Irish traditional bands Lúnasa and Dervish.

In addition to the uilleann piper, Goff plays traditional Irish whistles and the Irish wooden concert flute. He is currently pursuing his doctorate degree at New York University.
