Bronx Students Attend 'Ready to Lead' Conference

One hundred and fifty Bronx high school students attended the Bronx Institute's second annual "Ready to Lead" conference in December. Organized by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, the conference offered a series of workshops focusing on college planning and financing and leadership development.

"Students and their families in Bronx Institute programs have opportunities to learn about college, college admission, and paying for college on an ongoing basis," explained Professor Herminio Martinez (Middle and High School Education), executive director of the Bronx Institute. During the workshops, students met with members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute who talked about their own struggles to succeed.

The Institute is committed to developing the next generation of Latino leaders through educational and leadership development programs, services, and activities.
