Women's Basketball Team Advances to Championships; Men Play Tonight
Lehman senior forward Whittney Barnes put forth a phenomenal effort in the match against Staten Island, posting a double-double with 17 points accompanied by 15 rebounds (five offensive boards). The 6'2 standout connected on eight of her 16 shots. Senior Sally Nnamani also was a big factor in the victory, scoring ten points and snatching 15 rebounds, along with Monique Sampson, who contributed nine points and 13 boards.
The team's win means it is headed back to the championship game for a third consecutive season to Barucha team that has had no losses so far this season. The game will be played at City College on Friday (2/27) at 5:30 p.m. For tickets, call 718-960-7175.
The men's team, meanwhile, also advanced to the semifinal round of the tournament and will take on Baruch tonight (2/25) in the semifinal match, set for 5:30 p.m. at City College.
