'Green Worker Cooperatives' Founder to Speak at Lehman March 12
Launched in 2003, the G.W.C.'s mission is to create "green collar" jobs and to organize low-income residents into worker cooperatives, providing them with the necessary training and assistance to launch businesses that reduce existing pollution levels from polluting industries and practices.
Raised in the Bronx, Freilla attended Bronx High School of Science and earned his undergraduate degree from Morehouse College and his graduate degree in environmental science in resource analysis and ecological anthropology from Miami University.
