Professor Rice to Speak at Rutgers

Professor Anne Rice
Professor Rice's talk is titled “White Islands of Safety and Engulfing Blackness: Remapping Segregation in Angelina Weld Grimke's 'Blackness' and 'Goldie'." Her research interests include African American literature, United States modernism, representations of lynching in U.S. literature, diaspora studies, migration narratives, autobiography, and postcolonial theory.
A graduate of Smith College, Professor Rice holds an M.A. from Lehman College and an M. Phil. and Ph.D. from the CUNY Graduate Center.
