Sungshin Women's University President to Visit Lehman April 6

Dr. Hwa Jin Shim
Dr. Hwa Jin Shim, president of Sungshin Women's University in South Korea, will visit Lehman on Monday, April 6, at 11 a.m. to give a presentation on Korean traditional costumes and culture, focusing on the artistry of color and design that characterizes the creation of traditional clothing. The campus community is invited to the talk, which will take place in the second-floor Atrium of the Leonard Lief Library.
The presentation, which Dr. Shim will co-present with four members of the faculty at Sungshin, is part of the ongoing exchange program between Lehman and the South Korean university. Last August, the College signed an agreement with Sungshin to offer a dual-degree program, enabling Lehman students to spend a year of study at Sungshin and earn a degree from both institutions when they complete their Lehman studies. Sungshin students may also earn a Lehman degree by completing their final 30 credits here.
During the fall semester, ten Sungshin students attended classes at Lehman, and one Lehman student studied in Korea. Sungshin is a coeducational university near downtown Seoul, enrolling 13,000 students and composed of seven colleges and five graduate schools.
