Community Chorus to Present Spring Concert May 3
The major work on the program will be Schubert's Mass in B flat Major. Directed by Lehman Professor Diana Mittler-Battipaglia (Music) and accompanied by the Lehman Symphony Orehcestra, the 130-member chorus will also perform an excerpt from Haydn's Creation, a medley from Show Boat, and shorter works by Mendelssohn, Stanford, and Dello-Joio.
The program will also include Faure's Pavane and the Rumanian Dances by Bartok. Members of the chorus and soloists include Lehman students, alumni, faculty, staff, and a broad selection of residents from many communities in the Bronx and the greater New York area.
