Holocaust Remembrance Day April 21

Hillel Logo
In honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Lehman College Hillel Club and the Department of Latin American, Caribbean, and Puerto Rican Studies will host a talk with Professor Marion Kaplan of New York University on Tuesday, April 21, at 12:30 p.m. in the Faculty Dining Room. The talk will focus on the Dominican Refuge of Sosua. This event is free and open to the public.

The club is also partnering with the Museum of Jewish History of New York to present the "Gathering of Remembrance" on Sunday, April 26, at Temple Emanu-El, located at 1 East 65th Street. The annual event draws holocaust survivors and their families who share their memories and experiences.

Hillel is one of the largest Jewish campus organizations nationwide, and it focuses on communicating and sharing Jewish culture with others. Lehman’s Hillel chapter was established in spring 2006. It hosts several events throughout the year, and its members are active in community organizations and volunteer work.
