Met's 'La Cenerentola' ('Cinderella') at Lehman May 9

Elina Garanca, who had her triumphant Met debut last season, stars in the title role of Rossini's Cinderella story. She appears opposite Lawrence Brownlee, with Maurizio Benini conducting.
Hosted by the Celia Cruz Bronx High School of Music, the series is part of the Metropolitan Opera's efforts to increase music and art education in schools, and to make opera accessible to communities throughout the country. More than 800 venues throughout the world have participated in the Met's ground-breaking series. Past broadcasts include Puccini's Madama Butterfly and Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor.
Founded in 2003 as part of the Bronx New Century High School Initiative/New Visions for Public Schools, the Celia Cruz Bronx High School of Music combines a rigorous academic program with high-quality music instruction, which the students receive with assistance from the Lehman College Music Department.
