Roman Muchnik

Assistant Professor, Mathematics): B.A., California Institute of Technology; Ph.D., Yale University.

Prior to joining the faculty at Lehman, Prof. Muchnik worked at Bank of America Securities, where he was a model validation quantative analyst. Previously, he was a National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow and L.E. Dickson Instructor at the University of Chicago. From 1996-2002, while pursuing his Ph.D., he was a Teaching Fellow at Yale.

Prof. Muchnik has written and co-authored numerous articles published in major mathematical journals and is the recipient of many awards and fellowships. His hobbies range from the mental challenges of chess to the physical ones of orienteering—a sport that involves running, walking, skiing, or mountain biking between predetermined points on a trail while using a map and compass.
