Poster Session Presentations

The Abstract submittal deadline is April 20, 2009.

Poster presentations will provide opportunities to share the rich variety of programs and innovative projects in Gen Ed taking place at CUNY colleges in an open setting, accessible to all participants. Table-top presentations will open during the breakfast before the keynote plenary, continue during the lunch break, and remain open during the concluding conference reception. Each CUNY college is invited to present up to three table-top posters with brochures and illustrative material in any of the following categories:

  • Gen Ed Curriculum and Student Advising (e.g., assessment plans and programs: processes and effects; Gen Ed Programs: examples of orientation materials for students, faculty; Student Advising Centers - brochures, information on structures, especially transfer student advising, including articulation/TIPPS/credit evaluations)
  • Student Support (Instructional Support Services – Tutoring & Writing Centers, Supplemental Instruction; Student Learning & Research: making student learning visible, electronic and other paths/methods; evaluation of student learning, research; Study Abroad programs, including emphasis on how Gen Ed requirements integrate with Study abroad)
  • Faculty Development (Centers for Teaching and Learning – descriptions, materials, examples of successful programs; In service learning: examples of programs and/or courses; Scholarship of Teaching and Learning)

Poster Presentation Submissions

Poster presentation proposals should be coordinated by the General Education Director at each campus. However, individual submissions will be accepted as well.

Poster Proposals and Abstracts

Proposals should include a title, author(s), their affiliation, contact information and the theme (of the three noted above) which is supported by the proposal. This should be followed by a text summary of the poster proposal in 100 – 150 words. The purpose of these abstracts is to provide a listing of presentations both by college and by theme in the program.

Please use the electronic submission form.

For inquiries, contact Gen Ed.
