Registering For Undergraduate-Level Classes
We encourage graduate students to make steady progress toward their master’s degrees. Frequently, however, graduate students need to complete undergraduate-level courses that are not counted toward the credits needed to complete their degrees. This situation occurs for two common reasons:
- Students need to fulfill prerequisites for their master’s program.
- Students need to make up academic deficiencies to achieve certification by the New York State Education Department.
Graduate students registering for undergraduate-level classes must register
in person
- First see the Graduate Studies Adviser (Shuster Hall, Room 275) for a permission slip (often called an A-1). Selected courses require that you also see the academic department offering the course.
- Take the permission slip to the Office of the Registrar (Shuster Hall, Room 175 or 182) to register.
- Go to the Bursar’s Office to clear your bill.
