Professor Mary McGlynn will present a film directed by Jimmy Smallhorne, entitled “2X4” dealing with issues of immigration and homosexuality on Wed. November 17th at 7pm in Baruch College, Bernie West Theatre, 9th Floor 17 Lexington Ave.

 

This movie is part of a Series of Movies Directed by the “New Irish”. Professor McGlynn has published many articles on the works of writers of the British Isles of the present day, including Roddy Doyle.

Mary McGlynn has been associated with in Baruch College since Fall 2000, she is an English Professor specializing in postcolonial literatures of the twentieth century.

Her main interest of studies includes Scottish and Irish writers, film, country music, cultural studies, and Irish America.

Currently she is a faculty advisors to the English Department’s Club and the chair of Columbia University's Irish Studies Seminar. She has also recently taken up a position on the Executive Board for The American Conference for Irish Studies (ACIS).
