Conversation Circle

Ciorcal Comhrá

Irish Americans have long turned to Irish dance, music, sports, and language to take pride in their heritage and develop skills that enrich their ties to Ireland. Those of other backgrounds have increasingly taken an interest in these Celtic pastimes. The IIAS invites CUNY students attending Irish language classes this semester and the greater public to participate in a bi-monthly conversation circle at Lehman College and Queens College in the Starbucks Cafés. Advanced beginners to fluent speakers are welcome. There is no charge. Please phone 718-960-6722 to be sure we save you a seat if you like, or just show up. Tuesdays 7PM-8:30PM: Lehman College Dates (Carman Hall Café): February 8, March 8, and April 12. Queens College Dates (New Science Building Starbucks Café): February 22, March 22, and May 3. Ciorcal Comhrá leaders include Elaine Ní Bhraonáin and Thomas Ihde. Special thanks to Prof. John Gillen and Prof. Clare Carroll for their support in this effort.
