Do I need to a make an appointment or do you accept walk-in patients?

Walk-in patients are welcomed as the schedule allows. Sometimes you may be asked to return later in the day. Women’s Health walk-in services are limited because the nurse practitioner is only available certain hours each week—and she books up quickly.
Can I get the MMR shot at the Health Center?

Yes. You don't need an appointment. Just stop by for free MMR, Hepatitis B, Gardasil® (HPV) or Flu shots (during the appropriate season).
Can I get a copy of my immunization records?
Yes. We keep your records, but only your MMR vaccine dates are kept in our computers (for approximately 10 years). Just call or stop by the Health Center to obtain your records.
Do I need to get a Meningitis shot?

On August 15, 2003, New York State created a public health law requiring all colleges to provide information on meningitis and the meningitis vaccine. After reading the information on meningitis, you will need to complete a short form indicating that you received and read the information. You cannot register for classes without completing this form, but the vaccine is not required for registration and the Health Center does not offer the vaccine.

Do you give pregnancy tests?

Yes, just stop by. The cost is $7. We do not supply carry-home pregnancy tests.
Do you carry Emergency Contraception?

Yes, Plan B® is available for $20. Please note that Plan B® is most effective within the first 72 hours after unprotected vaginal intercourse.
Do you do HIV Testing?

Yes, HIV testing is offered three times a week: Tuesdays from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. at the Health Center; Wednesdays from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Health Center; and Thursdays (alternating with Bronx AIDS Services Mobile Van in Concert Hall Circle, outside Gate 10 from 12-3 p.m.) or 10-2 p.m. at the Health Center.
How can I get birth control?

First, you will need to make an appointment to see the Women’s Health Provider who will perform an exam and discuss with you the contraceptive options that best suit your needs.
Do you offer the HPV vaccine, Gardasil®?

Yes. Female students ages 18-25 with a valid Lehman College I.D. can obtain the Gardasil® vaccine. No appointment is necessary.
Are over-the-counter medications available?
Yes, we have many everyday medications available such as Tylenol®, Motrin® and Sudafed®. We also carry pads and tampons.
Can I fill my birth control or another prescription at the Health Center?
No, we are not a pharmacy that can fill prescriptions from another facility. However, the Health Center can dispense low-cost, on-site medications if the medical practitioner examines you and determines that you need medication.
Is health insurance available?

Yes. If you are eligible based on your income and other criteria (see our Get Health Insurance, you can apply for Family Health Plus, the free state health insurance program, here at the Health Center with an insurance advisor on Mondays from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. If you don’t qualify for Family Health Plus, click here to check out CUNY-GHI.
