Faculty and Staff Make Presentations on Supplemental Instruction at HETS Conference

Attending the HETS (Hispanic Educational Telecommunications Systems) conference last month in Puerto Rico were Lehman President Ricardo R. Fernández, shown with with HETS Conference presenters from Lehman's Title V Office of Supplemental Instruction & Technology (SI). From left are Melissa Espinal, Title V SI assistant supervisor and SI leader; Gina Rae Foster, Title V project director & SI coordinator; President Fernández; Monica Cosinga, Title V associate coordinator; and Naliza Sadik, Title V SI associate supervisor. Also attending the conference were Professor Maryam Bamshad (Biological Sciences), who won the conference award for Best Practices in Faculty Development and Technology, and Professor Robert Whittaker, associate provost for Online Education and Undergraduate Studies. Lehman made two presentations at the conference: "The SI Star: A New Model for Teaching, Learning, and Project Management" and "Using Computer Technology to Improve the Quality of Science Education at Urban Universities."
