Resources for Faculty
We are here for you! Whether it is to find the perfect technology tool for your on-campus, online, or hybrid course, to confer on the design and development of a new course, to better understand the advantages of features in Blackboard, or to learn how Open Educational Resources might enhance your course or replace your textbook, the Office of Online Education is ready to assist you. We can meet with you in person or online!
How to Get Started?
- Make an appointment with the Office of Online Education to discuss your needs for support. You might be looking for ways to tweak your course, learn about the latest technologies, or make your course student-friendly and engaging. Or perhaps you want to learn about how to use Open Educational Resources to make your course more engaging or replace your current textbooks? Or even how to use technology to catch up on missed classes due to bad weather?
- Register for a Blackboard (Bb) Basics Training Course to build a foundation of using Blackboard to support student learning. This is an asynchronous, self-paced course. On average, it takes about 2-4 hours to complete this course. More information.
- Try the Online Course Readiness Tool! This planning tool will ensure that you have the essential course design elements in place for a successful online teaching and learning experience and that Office of Online Education is able to provide the timely support you may need. We invite you to complete the Online Course Readiness Review.
- Register for Preparation for Teaching Online: A Foundational Workshop for CUNY Faculty. We invite you to participate in a two-week, asynchronous, instructor-facilitated workshop, offered throughout the year. You will gain a first-hand experience of online education in the company of your peers, and the practical preparation you need to be confident and effective teaching an online or hybrid course. Watch for notices about upcoming sessions and registration.
