About the Immersion Programs
The intensive Summer and Winter Immersion programs are for students seeking to pass the CUNY/ACT Basic Skills Tests in Reading, Writing and/or Mathematics (the Mathematics Assessment Test or MAT). Entering freshmen as well as continuing students may participate.
Immersion workshops review test-taking strategies, and help students build essential skills. Workshops are also designed to familiarize students with the college's resources, and to increase students' academic preparedness for college.
Workshops are free to all students. Tutors work together with instructors to ensure adequate support for workshop participants.

Summer Immersion and Winter Immersion Schedules
Workshops are intensive and require consistent attendance. Upon completion of the workshop, students will have the opportunity to take the exam.
Students must register for the Immersion workshops in person, in Room 337 of Carman Hall. To verify registration dates and times, call the Freshman Programs office at 718-960-8720.
